HALLOWEEN BOOK FESTIVAL NAMES "MS. VAMPY'S TEEN TALK" FOR TOP HONORS

LOS ANGELES _ A vampiress from Brooklyn offering 100 years of challenges and wisdom to teenage girls is the winner of the 2017 Halloween Book Festival, which honors the best and scariest works of the seasons.

Real-life scream queen Brooke Lewis is the author of the quirky "Ms. Vampy's Teen Tawk" (Outskirts Press),  adopting an Elvira persona and channeling Fran Drescher, Lewis uses the quirky vampire to help teen girls with the struggle to make the right choices and find their own voice.

A life coach, actress and author, Lewis's book is a reminder that, in her words, "At any time, you have the power to create a "do-ova" and feel differently, think differently, dress differently and be different. I, and this book, are here to support you, guide you and honor you in areas where you are feeling stuck, confused, fearful, insecure or simply needing help. "

Lewis and other winners, runner-ups and honorable mentions will be honored at a private dinner in Los Angeles on November 18.
