"TOP DOGS" NAMED TOP DOG AT 2017 ANIMALS, ANIMALS, ANIMALS BOOK FESTIVAL


CHICAGO_ The amazing stories of canines that made history is the winner of the 2017 Animals, Animals, Animals Book Festival, which honors books that cover all creatures great and small.

Author Elizabeth MacLeod's Top Dogs; True Stories of Canines That Made History (Annick Press) tells the stories of eight amazing canines whose actions influenced history. Kids learn about Stubby, who rescued World War I soldiers; Buddy, the first seeing eye dog in North America; and Brandy, who discovered a bomb aboard a plane. All of it is told in a kid-friendly narrative that celebrates the exploits of some truly amazing animals.
